SAFE SPORTS COMMUNICATION

Youth Safety

Effective date: August 17, 2026

JEM SportsOS is designed for sports communities that can include youth athletes. Protecting minors requires both responsible technology design and responsible behavior by organizations, coaches, parents, guardians and other users.

Guardian-aware participation

JEM SportsOS supports parent and guardian roles so organizations can connect youth athletes with appropriate adults. Organizations are responsible for establishing and enforcing guardian, consent and communication practices appropriate to their sport, governing bodies and applicable law.

Role-based access

Access to organization and team information is based on approved membership and assigned roles. Administrators should grant only the level of access a person needs and promptly remove access when a role or relationship ends.

Communication safeguards

Users must not use JEM SportsOS to groom, exploit, sexually solicit, threaten, harass or otherwise endanger a minor. Organizations and adult users should follow applicable athlete-protection rules, including any requirements concerning guardian visibility, one-to-one communications and electronic communication with minors.

Public recruiting profiles

Recruiting profiles are intended to share athlete information deliberately selected for recruiting purposes. They are designed not to expose private messages, date of birth, home address, guardian information, internal evaluations or private coach notes. Users should still review every profile before sharing its link outside the organization.

Private information

Do not place a minor athlete's private personal contact information in public recruiting-contact fields. Use an appropriate coach or organization recruiting contact when possible. Users should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information through messages, profiles or public links.

Blocking, reporting and organization action

Users should report concerning conduct to their organization and use available platform safety controls where appropriate. Organization administrators are responsible for responding to membership and conduct concerns within their organization. Suspected immediate danger or unlawful conduct should be reported to the appropriate local authorities.

Organization responsibilities

JEM SportsOS does not replace background checks, abuse-prevention training, league policies, mandated-reporting duties or other safeguards required of sports organizations. Each organization remains responsible for its personnel, supervision, policies and compliance obligations.
